Looking For The Best Home Paper Shredder?

One of the easiest ways for criminals to steal your identity is by rummaging through your trash. I have been guilty of just wadding up bank statements and pre-approved credit card applications and throwing them in the garbage can. This action can be very dangerous. I have seen what can happen if just a few pieces of personal information falls into the wrong hands. For this reason, I have decided to list some of the best home paper shredders that will keep that information secure and render it unusable to anyone trying to steel your identity.

All of the models featured on this page are top of the line. They can cut, chew, and obliterate all of your most important information. These units are very powerful and extremely quiet. They can also destroy old credit cards, computer disks, CD's, and other forms that may contain data that you don't want to see the light of day.

One feature I like to see in a shredder is a large storage bin. I have owned models with really small bins and it can be a pain to empty every other day. The ones featured here all have very large bins which are very easy to empty. Most of these units are easy to move around and very lightweight as well.

Several of these models have a built in sensor to protect you from getting cut. The sensor is able to detect when someone's hand is too close to the blades and will automatically shut down. I have never heard of anyone getting hurt on one of these machines but I guess it has happened before or they wouldn't have included such a feature. Better safe than sorry.

If you are looking for a great machine that will terminate those old documents then any of these models will do a great job. They are all very well built, durable, and can take a lot of abuse. Be sure to click on the links where you will be able to see all of the product information and great reviews.

Fellowes Powershred 100-Percent Jam Proof Cross-Cut Paper Shredder

Great for home or office!

This machine is a beast at powering through unwanted material. With this model you can process up to 14 sheets of paper at one time. Not only does this unit tear through paper, it will also destroy any computer discs, credit cards, and CD's. We store a lot of our personal information on these discs and we should dispose of them properly.

This model boasts that it is jam proof. Well, that depends on how you use it. If you follow the directions and only process the amount it says to then it will not get jammed. But, if you are like me then you will put too much in there at one time and it will get jammed. Stick to the amount they tell you to use and it won't jam.

This unit is very safe as well. It has a built in sensor that recognizes when your hands are too close and will automatically shut off. A great feature to have if you have little ones running around your home office.

This is one of the most popular units available with the best reviews. If you are looking for a high quality, well-made, and quiet model then this is it. Be sure to check out the link to get full details.

Comet 10-sheet Jamstop Micro Cut Paper Shredder

Great for home use!

This little machine does a wonderful job tearing through documents, credit cards, CD's, and disks. I love this machine and use it all of the time. It is super quiet and can handle a load of up to 10 sheets at one time. The collection container is a good size too. It holds up to 4.2 gallons of waste and is easy to empty. I can go weeks without having to empty the bin.

This machine doesn't just cut the paper into long strips, it turns it into tiny little pieces like confetti. I have owned units in the past that just did the strips and could only imagine how easy it would be to tape them back together. So, a micro cut machine would definitely make it more difficult, if not impossible for a thief to put them back together.

I find this model to be top notch and one of the best for the money. If you want to get rid of a bunch of old documents then this little machine will do the trick.

Fellowes PowerShred 17 Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder

Great model for the office!

This machine is one powerful unit. I couldn't imagine a better unit for the office at this price. This model can tear its way through 17 sheets at a time and turns credit cards into ash. You also don't have to worry about removing staples, it will cut through them with ease.

If you have a lot of paper to process then this unit can handle it. It has a very large 9 gallon capacity bin so you won't be bothered emptying it all the time. This model is also extremely quiet considering how powerful it is.

It also features a great safety sensor that is built in. If your fingers get too close to the blades it will automatically shut off. I highly recommend this model for any office or home. Check out the link for full details.

Fellowes Powershred SafeSense 7-sheet Micro-Cut Shredder

Great machine to keep your information secure!

If safety of your family or business is your main concern for purchasing one of these machines then this model is the one to get. I am very impressed by this cross cut units ability to turn paper into the smallest particles. This model creates confetti like particles that are up to 10 times smaller than most machines.

This unit holds up to 4.5 gallons of discarded material. It actually holds more than other comparable units due to how tiny it cuts the paper. It is capable of processing up to 7 sheets of paper at a time and will run continuously for up to 10 minutes.

Not only does it do a wonderful job destroying old files, it is also extremely quiet. This model is extremely durable, made from high quality materials, and will last for many years.

Fellowes Powershred 100% Jam Proof 12-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder

Powerfurl unit at a great price!

As you have probably noticed by now I am a big fan of Fellowes products. I use them all the time in the office and have never had any problems out of them. This model is probably the best one I have found for daily use in the home office. It can process up to 12 sheets of paper at a time, including those credit cards and computer disks. And the powerful motor is extremely quiet.

It comes with a large 6 gallon storage bin that is very easy to empty and the controls couldn't be any easier to use. It is also very energy efficient. When not in use the unit goes into a standby mode and only activates when paper is introduced.

As I have mentioned before these units are very high quality and can take pretty much whatever you can throw at it. Be sure to check out the link to get full product details and reviews.
